Jont's songs and performances are treated like musical medicine by the dedicated band of followers who have come across this open-hearted troubadour over the years. Whatever style of song he shapes, and there have been many since his first album in 1998 to his latest critically acclaimed release "Hello Halifax" in 2013, the energy of it often has some degree of healing and cathartic effect. Over the years he has played his music across the world and shared stages with latter-day and current superstars (from David Crosby and Bonnie Raitt to Ed Sheeran and Charlie Winston) - and also with many incredible artists hardly anyone has heard of who left just as deep an impression. His songs have been used occasionally on movies (Wedding Crashers) and tv shows (Grey's Anatomy, Parenthood, Without A Trace) and various music industry aficionados are long-term fans (producer Joe Boyd; DJs Zane Lowe, Dermot O'Leary & Johnnie Walker; managers Adam Tudhope & Tony Dimitriades). He now lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia (that's Eastern Canada if you don't know) - a skip across the Atlantic from his origins in London, England - and is currently working on his next album songs inspired by his move to Canada and the joys of fatherhood, to be produced by Ex-Arcade Fire member Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Godspeed You Black Emperor, The Dears) and Juno Award-winning producer Joel Plaskett. Q magazine once described his music as "so lovely it makes you want to hug strangers in the street".
